About Us
"Another Staged Home" was created after listening in on a call featuring Barb Schwarz, the lady who created Home
Staging back in 1972. Her company, Staged Homes, offers courses for Realtors and those wanting to learn the concept
of Staging. Staged Homes is the only nationally recognized company for Home Staging and upon finishing the course
you receive the designation of Accredited Staging Professional (ASP). With 20 years experience of selling real estate,
it just made perfect sense for me to take the course and start a Home Staging company that would complement my real
estate business.
My name is Melinda Bartling. I was born and raised in Kansas City and attended The Barstow School
(when it was all girls). I am the little sister of local rock and roll legend Roger Calkins of
"The Fabulous Silver Tones" and "The Holidays." Single since 1984, I was formerly in business with my mother and
owned Louisburg Square Antique Gallery and Tea Room in Overland Park. After my mother became ill and we had to close the
shop, I received my real estate license in 1987. After being affiliated with J.C. Nichols and then J.D. Reece,
I joined the forces of RE/MAX. That was the best move I ever made!
I have two grown children, McKenna, who is 24 and lives in Chicago after graduating from DePaul University. She's with
Rock Bottom Brewery. My son, Chad, is 22 and he and Emily just had a baby girl, Brooklyn. Chad is Operating Manager of
Carrabba's Italian Grill at 105th & Metcalf in Overland Park.
