Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a best time to get my home staged?
The best time is when you finally decide you're going to do it. We like to Stage before you come on the market...but DEFINITELY before you reduce your price! If you have been on the market for at least a month, you are probably overpriced or need Staging. And remember, Staged homes sell faster and for more money.

Do we have to take everything out of our house?
No. Staging is working with your things to make your home appeal to the most number of buyers.

Can we help you do the Staging?
Definitely not! The greatest part of the job is to see your expression when you see your house! However, there are parts of the Staging project that you could possibly complete when we are finished. Some clients prefer to pack their own "clutter." Clutter eats equity so we definitely want it out of there. It's determining what is considered "clutter" and what isn't. Most sellers can't decide what needs to stay and what needs to go. That's the key! And that's what we're really good at!

What if there are things we don't want touched?
No problem! That's one of our "Professional Policies" and we'll go over those things as we decide to work together.

How do we decide between the "Staging Consultation" and the "Staging Bid"?
That's an easy one...it's whether you want to do the project or want us to do the project. Most people want us to do it since it's so emotional and they would rather hire a professional...especially one with a Realtor's point of view. But just remember, this is only temporary. Staging speeds up the length of time you are on the market. This is for your benefit...to get your home sold faster and for more money.

My Realtor doesn't want to bring you in since you are his competition.
He has to understand that I'm not there to compete with him. I abide by a Code of Ethics and I'm there to help get the house sold. When I'm there, I'm a Stager...but I also can approach the project with 19 years experience in selling real estate.

I haven't seen any prices anywhere...is this going to be expensive?
I know it's going to be much less than your first price reduction! I prefer to discuss pricing after I've seen the house. My prices are flat fees - not by the hour. Is it expensive??? Not at all.

The typical Staging project will run somewhere between $350 - $750. But there again, it could be less and it could be more. It all depends on the size of the house and the amount of work that needs to be done. We do our best to work within your budget and timeframe. It's definitely money well spent to get your home sold. For your convenience we accept Visa and MasterCard. I do require a non-refundable deposit when you hire me so I can block out the time in my schedule for your project.

How long is all of this going to take?
Hopefully not long, but I haven't seen the house yet!

If you question whether or not you need to Stage your home, you probably do! Ask yourself how long do you have to sell your home and how much can you negotiate on your price? If you are a serious seller who wants to move on, we can help you!
